About the Department

The department has been established in 1939 and has a profound history. A large number of students of this department now decorate illustrious positions in various industries, institutes and universities. The department offers three programs namely BSc, MSc and Ph.D.  Most of the students of the department are from rural areas. The department provides a very good opportunity for students from all community to excel in their carrier and to become a socially responsible human being. The department has been recognized by the University of Calicut as a research department. Major thrust of the research from the Department of Physics is towards novel materials, functionalities and their potential applications in the field of optical, electrical, semiconducting, magnetic, bio-sensors etc.

  1. B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics & Chemistry as Complimentary Courses & Non Conventional energy sources as Open course.
  2. M.Sc. Physics with Experimental Techniques, Electronic Instrumentation & Modern Optics as Electives.
  3. Ph.D. related to Experimental Physics
